“Socialized medicine?” “Single-payer?” That’s so 2007.

As both sides gear up for the next round of the health care reform fight at the state Capitol, they’re making familiar arguments about how best to insure people. But they’ve ditched some of the familiar code phrases for new lingo.

Insurance companies and big-business lobbyists are no longer warning that universal health care proposals will bring about “socialized medicine.” The new scare term is “government takeover of the health care system.”
