OP-ED | The Board of Pardons and Paroles is Under Attack for Doing Its Job

Opinion writer Susan Bigelow suggests that the Board of Pardons and Paroles was doing exactly what the legislature empowered it to do when it started commuting more prison sentences in 2021. However, larger questions remain – like what should the role of victims and their families be in a system that allows for more commutations? The legislature now has the opportunity to discuss it.
