Due to high demand Connecticut’s health insurance exchange is extending their open enrollment until April 15 so anyone without health insurance can purchase a plan and get covered for the rest of 2021.
Since the first special enrollment period began on Feb. 15 over 2,000 Connecticut residents have signed up for coverage through Access Health CT.

Access Health CT can help you enroll in an affordable, quality health insurance plan that is right for you and your family.”
In total, 104,946 individuals have signed up for private health insurance plans through Access Health CT. About 70% of those who sign up receive a federal tax subsidy that lowers the monthly premium they pay.
The special enrollment period is only for those who have not signed up for a health insurance plan yet in 2021. It does not allow those who have already purchased a plan on the exchange to change that plan.
There are about 17 plans to choose from on the exchange that are offered by Anthem and ConnectiCare.
Enrollment in HUSKY, the state’s Medicaid program, is open all year long and can also be done through Access Health CT.
