WARREN — According to the Waterbury Republican-American, three-term Republican First Selectman Craig Nelson was defeated by political newcomer Timothy J. Angevine, a fifth-generation local farmer who petitioned onto the ballot as an unaffiliated candidate. He gathered six signatures, four more than was required by law, and won Tuesday with 308 votes to Nelson’s 280.
