BERLIN, CT — Fire appears to have destroyed part or all of the old train station building in Berlin today. Construction was under way on a new station there as well, but news reports indicate that the fire only impacted the old station building.

Amtrak commuters and travelers coming south through Berlin were delayed about an hour as emergency responders doused the blaze and then cleared the tracks.
