Gov. Dannel P. Malloy made it official Friday when he announced he signed a proclamation calling on the General Assembly to convene 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 for a special session to approve an economic incentive package for Lockheed Martin.

Malloy said the package will retain and grow approximately 8,000 jobs at Sikorsky Aircraft until 2032, keep the Sikorsky headquarters here in Connecticut, and increase investments in in-state suppliers.

The deal which is worth about $220 million requires the approval of both the General Assembly and the union.
