The state Bond Commission will meet Thursday morning to consider approving $728.4 million in general obligation bonds.
That’s in addition to the $505 million they bonded in January. If the commission approves the borrowing, it will bring the total amount the state has borrowed in just three months up to $1.3 billion.
Last year, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy capped borrowing for the year at $2.5 billion. On Thursday he’s expected to announce just how much he plans on borrowing in 2016.
