Legislative leaders and Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy met again Wednesday to discuss how they will close a $350 million budget shortfall, but they declined to elaborate on where they were in those negotiations.

“We’re all committed to coming back tomorrow to try and reach an agreement,” House Speaker Brendan Sharkey, D-Hamden, said.

He offered no other details of where they were in those discussions and declined to expand his answer to reporters’ questions.

Senate Minority Leader Len Fasano, R-North Haven, said they are all trying “very, very hard” to reach an agreement and the fact that they continue to meet shows how determined they are at getting there.

However, he said they really “have to get it done tomorrow.”

Malloy said he thought they today was the make it or break it day, but they will be back at it on Thursday.

“We had fruitful discussions,” Malloy said.

They are expected to meet again at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
