
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, after meeting with a Syrian family who is taking up residence in New Haven, said America has a moral obligation to take in these individuals who are fleeing the civil war in that country.
The family had lived in a refugee camp in Jordan for three years as they were vetted for entry into the U.S.
They had been scheduled to live in Indiana until Gov. Mike Pence joined at least 25 other governors in announcing that he would no longer accept refugees from Syria in light of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, a decision first reported by the New York Times.
