Republican Party Chairman Jerry Labriola Jr. will serve out the next six months of his term even though a vocal minority would have been happy to see him step aside.

Labriola’s term ends in June, but the party’s failure to pick up the governor’s seat or a constitutional office had a number of Republicans questioning his leadership ability and style.

No vote on Labriola’s leadership was taken Wednesday during the Republican State Central Committee meeting in Manchester.

“We had a healthy discussion about what went right and what went wrong during the election,” Zak Sanders, a spokesman for the party, said Wednesday.
