The U.S. Government asked a federal court judge to postpone jury selection in the grand jury indictment of former Gov. John G. Rowland until September.

Jury selection was scheduled for June, but Assistant U.S. Attorney Liam Brennan, who is lead counsel in the Rowland case, will be starting a complex securities fraud trial this summer.

Also a 100 gigabyte external hard drive was recently made available by the defendant during discovery and “it is apparent that the pretrial motions deadline of May 2, 2014 will not allow for sufficient time to review discovery, prepare substantive motions and prepare for trial in light of any rulings on those motions.”
