President Barack Obama granted Connecticut’s request for a major disaster declaration following the February snow storm nicknamed “Nemo.”

The declaration means federal funding is available to state and local government and certain nonprofit organizations for the emergency work and repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the storm.

The counties that qualify under the declaration include Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland, and Windham Counties and the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribal Nations.
