It’s unclear who will replace him, and fans say he can’t be replaced, but WDRC announced Monday that Dan Lovallo will no longer be part of its line-up.
Lovallo hosted one of three local shows on the station and it was not clear exactly which syndicated radio program may replace him from 3 to 6 p.m. every afternoon. Rita Crosby’s show was aired Monday in Lovallo’s sted.
Budget constraints were cited by the station as the reason for ending the show.
“It’s the nature of the business. It comes down to the bottom line,” Lovallo said Monday.
Lovallo has been hosting the afternoon show from 3 to 6 p.m. every afternoon since 2006.
“I’m a free agent now,” Lovallo said in a brief phone call.
The well wishes from listeners began filling Lovallo’s Facebook page this afternoon.
“I don’t know the internal decision making process that goes into the decision at WDRC 1360 AM side of the radio network, but to not have Dan Lovallo on the air doing what was that last radio show that called it like it is, is quite simply outrageous!” J. Stan McCauley of Hartford wrote.
