The total number of layoff notices that have gone out to state employees is now up 1,851, as of 10 a.m., according to the Office of Policy and Management. That’s 1,523 since last week’s announcement.

So far the layoffs have been spread across 25 executive agencies. The Department of Transportation had the most new layoffs with 448. Many positions were eliminated also in the Department of Developmental Services, 282, Department of Children and Families, 208, and the Department of Social Services, 164.
