It’s unlikely to win ratification, but the last two employee unions are scheduled to vote on the $1.6 billion savings and concessions deal today.
Unions representing the state police troopers and the judicial marshals will wrap up voting today, even though it’s unlikely their votes will affect the outcome.
The vote for the last of the AFSCME unions will be made public this afternoon. Only one of the 15 unions could have rejected the deal, but union sources say the chances that 80 percent of the members will ratify it were slim.
Meanwhile, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will meet with mayors from Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Waterbury and Stamford. He will hold an availability outside his office at 11 a.m. Malloy has called the legislature back next week for a special session to balance the budget.
