The Connecticut Technology Council is looking to recognize 40 of the fastest growing Connecticut technology companies for the Marcum Tech Top 40. Applications are available now on the Council’s website and are due by May 31.
To be eligible, companies need to have their headquarters located in Connecticut and must be in business for more than four years with fourth year revenues exceeding $3 million. Six categories of businesses will be recognized, including advanced manufacturing, energy and environmental technologies, life sciences, new media and internet telecom, IT services, and software. Additionally the company must have its own proprietary technology, intellectual property, or invests a considerable amount of its revenue in research and development. System integrators are eligible through the program’s IT services category. There will be an overall winner in each category.
The program culminates with a gala event at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford on September 27th. Leading the top 40 last year was Cheshire-based Alexion Pharmaceuticals, a company that experienced growth of over 24,000% and developed a drug that treats a rare and life threatening blood disorder.
