As a traveling press secretary for Linda McMahon’s U.S. Senate campaign, she was always at McMahon’s side. Now, Jodi Latina, the former Channel 8 and News 12 Connecticut reporter, will test her skills as press secretary for the Senate Republican caucus.

Last week, the Senate Republican caucus laid off seven of its legislative aides and research analysts, one of whom handled press for at least two of state senators.

Brett Cody, communications director for the Senate Republican caucus, said Latina will join the staff of the Communications Department next week.

“She is a skilled communicator with a breadth of experience in news and politics that will be valuable to the Senators she represents and their constituents,“ Cody said. “She will be assigned to several Senate Republicans and responsible for establishing and executing all of their communications goals. That means she will serve as their primary media contact and also be responsible for managing the content of the senators’ official webpages, social media accounts, cable-access programming and direct mail. We are excited about welcoming her to our team.”
