U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd will give what has been billed as his final address today on the U.S. Senate floor.

The speech is expected to begin around 4 p.m.

First elected to the Senate in 1980, Dodd served five terms before deciding early this year not to seek re-election. He will remain in office until Jan. 5 when Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is sworn in as Connecticut’s next U.S. Senator.

CTNewsJunkie will be in Washington today for the pomp and ceremony.
