(Updated 10:55 p.m.) Comast high speed internet users were not getting any Internet service on Sunday evening due to “technical difficulties,” but service returned shortly before 11 p.m.

“We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with high speed internet service in the Greater Boston, Western New England, Washington DC, Greater Baltimore, Maryland and Virginia areas. Technicians are aware of the issue and are working toward resolution. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience,” a Comcast technician wrote in a live chat about the outage.

“We’re aware of an issue and our engineers are working aggressively to resolve as quickly as possible,” Comcast spokeswoman Kristen Roberts said in an email Sunday evening.

The outage lasted for at least two hours.
