A poll released Wednesday has Republican Tom Foley and Democrat Dan Malloy in a dead-heat in their bid for governor, with both candidates receiving about 45.1 percent support from those surveyed.
An estimated 6.3 percent of the 1,846 people surveyed between Oct. 24 and Oct. 26 said they were still undecided on which candidate to support. The poll, conducted by the Merriman River Group has a 2.3 percent margin of error.
“It seems clear we are heading to the tightest two-way gubernatorial finish in recent memory,” said the poll’s Executive Director, Matthew Fitch, adding that with so few undecided voters, opinions are unlikely to shift significantly before Nov. 2.
