Last week Democratic gubernatorial nominee Dan Malloy challenged Republican gubernatorial nominee to at least eight debates. As of Monday evening Foley’s campaign had accepted three of the invitations.

Liz Osborn, communications director for Foley, said Monday that the campaign is “still reviewing the invitations.”

Malloy and Foley have agreed to an Oct. 5 debate sponsored by the Hartford Courant and Fox 61; an Oct. 12 debate sponsored by WTNH and The Day at the Garde Arts Center in New London; and an unscheduled October debate sponsored by WFSB and Connecticut Public Broadcasting.

The University of Connecticut, NBC30, and a coalition of Chambers of Commerce in Southwestern Connecticut have also extended invitations to the candidates. As of Tuesday Tom Marsh the independent candidate had accepted the invitation to the University of Connecticut debate Oct. 20.
