The ticket for state Comptroller is a hotly contested battle between four candidates on the Democratic side, but on the Republican side Jack Orchulli, who started a business with fashion designer Michael Kors, walked away with the nomination after Stephanie Labanowski of Bolton decided not to enter her name into nomination.

In the race for Secretary of the State Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell received the endorsement and Corey Brinson, a lawyer from Bloomfield walked away with enough of the vote to primary. However, Brinson said he wouldn’t make a decision regarding the primary until Monday.

On the Democratic side Majority Leader Denise Merrill walked away with her party’s endorsement, while Sen. Jonathan Harris and former New Haven Gerry Garcia received enough support to primary.
