If state Comptroller Nancy Wyman joins Dannel Malloy’s gubernatorial campaign, Rep. Tom Reynolds of Ledyard will run for the Democratic nomination for comptroller.
“I established an exploratory committee for State Comptroller many months ago, and I stated I would only pursue it formally if Nancy vacated the seat,” Reynolds said in an emailed statement. “If Dan Malloy chooses Nancy Wyman has his running mate, I will formally announce my campaign for Comptroller.”
Reynolds had stepped aside a few months ago when Wyman announced her re-elected bid for comptroller. Reynolds is expected to make an announcement after the Malloy campaign announcement Tuesday afternoon.
