Former Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy, a Democrat, said he will officially launch his candidacy for governor at noon on Wednesday. While Republican Larry DeNardis will officially launch his campaign at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Meanwhile, one of the Democrats exploring a run for governor announced she’s raised $105,000 since announcing her potential candidacy nine weeks ago.
Simsbury First Selectwoman Mary Glassman said in a press release that she has received contributions from 1,187 donors. Glassman also pointed out in the press release that in 2006 when she was running for lieutenant governor she received 57 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary, while Ned Lamont received 52 percent in his race for U.S. Senate and Malloy received 49 percent in the race for governor.
Glassman, Lamont, and Malloy are all gubernatorial candidates in 2010.
