Four towns in Connecticut will need to hold runoff elections on Nov. 24 for one Town Council and three Board of Education seats.

According to the Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz, recounts following the Nov. 3 municipal elections resulted in ties in four communities.

In Avon, Democrat David Pena will face off against Republican William R. Hooper II for a seat on the Town Council. In Barkhamsted Republican Dawn M. Anstett will face off against Democrat Dawn Gardner Bobinsky, in Haddam Republican Chester Harris will face off against Democrat Sabrina Houlton and in Ridgefield Democrat Irene Burgess will face off against Republican Keith Miller for seats on the Board of Education.
