
A leading state health-care reformer is moving toward a run for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination—setting up a four-way (and counting) competition for progressive endorsements.
Former State Rep. Juan Figueroa, who runs the Universal Health Care Foundation (UHCF), has begun approaching potential supporters for a 2010 run. If he wins the nomination, he would become the first Latino major-party candidate for governor.
