U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd’s prostate surgery went well Tuesday according to a press release from his staff. Dodd announced a few weeks ago that he had early stage prostate cancer.

“The surgery was successful and the Senator is now resting comfortably. He is expected to be in the hospital for a few days. It is anticipated that he will be able to return to full activity within a few weeks,” Dr. Peter Scardino from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center said in a statement.
