Capitol Police arrested an advocate of marijuana reform Friday for sending a profanity laced email to a state senator.
Dominic Vita, 28, of Somers was charged with disorderly conduct one day after sending an email saying “I’m getting ready to go postal” to Sen. Toni Boucher, R-Wilton.
Police also said Vita, the vice president of Norml CT, referenced a specific act of violence directed at Sen. Boucher. As vice president of Norml CT, Vita advocates in favor of easing the state’s marijuana laws. Boucher is an outspoken opponent of loosening those laws.
Vita, seen above in the video testifying this past March in favor of a bill to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana, will appear in Hartford Community Court on Monday, May 11. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.
