Taxpayers from across Connecticut will gather in several locations today—the day taxes are due—to protest federal spending policies and industry bailouts.
The protest is being billed as a “tea party,” similar to the Boston Tea Party during which overtaxed tea was dumped into Boston Harbor on December 16, 1773 and is regarded as a major catalyst of the American Revolution.
Taxpayers will gather outside the state Capitol building in Hartford at noon. Click here to read Marcia’s report on the statewide organizer of the Connecticut tea parties. Check back later for our coverage or read our coverage of the Feb. 27 Tea Party in Hartford.
