
Hundreds of New Haven-area Jews rose around dawn Wednesday and celebrated the return of the sun to what is said to be its place on the fourth day of creation, an event that occurs every 28 years.
The juxtaposition of the event, known as Birkat HaChamah, and the day on which the first Passover Seder is held has occurred only twice in the last 700 years.
