Following a conference call with state officials including State Police and the Department of Transportation, Gov. M. Jodi Rell told non-critical state employees they may delay their arrival at work this morning for up to two hours.

Rell strongly urged everyone else to stay off the roads until at least 8 am. Snow is falling at 1 to 2 inches per hour and DOT trucks, which have been out all night, are having difficulty staying ahead of the snow. Driving conditions are very difficult at best.

Also, the Judiciary Committee public hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. today has been postponed until Wednesday. And U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd’s banking forum at Capital Community College scheduled for this morning also has been postponed. A new date will be announced in the future.
