Connecticut Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz announced Tuesday that she has filed papers to form an exploratory committee for a 2010 gubernatorial bid. The new committee is called Friends of Susan 2010, Inc.

In forming the exploratory committee, Bysiewicz said, “With the severe challenges facing our state and nation, the people of Connecticut are craving bold, visionary leadership and innovation from their elected officials. The formation of an exploratory committee will enable me to explore how best to utilize my talents and record of accomplishment to improve the lives of Connecticut’s residents.”

Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy will be traveling to Hartford Tuesday afternoon to file his papers to explore a run for governor in 2010. Former Speaker of the House James Amann has already filed his papers.
