The Office of Legislative Research released a report this September detailing the number of individuals in the state without health insurance. According to the report there are approximately 325,500 Connecticut residents without health care coverage, a decrease of 2 percent or approximately 67,154 individuals from 2004-05 to 2006-07.

More than 40,000 of those individuals are now covered by public programs like Medicaid or Medicare, another more than 2,800 people gained coverage through their employers, and more than 24,000 people moved out of the state during those four years. Numbers for 2008 were not yet available.
