The state Capitol was a virtual ghost town early Monday afternoon. The state Senate has called itself into the veto session and adopted the rules before recessing. The House has gaveled in and will reconvene around 1 p.m.
Sen. President Donald Williams, D-Brooklyn, said Monday morning that “Frankly we’re not certain there will be the votes to override,” Gov. M. Jodi Rell’s veto of a bill to increase the minimum wage.
It all depends on if the House is able to get 101 legislators to Hartford for the override. As of 1:15 p.m. lawmakers have slowly been making their way into the House chamber.
