Democratic Speaker of the House James Amann of Milford will
announce Thursday evening that
he’s exploring a run for governor in 2010 and it’s expected to be quite a show.
A number of activists who don’t like Amann because he continued to support U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman after the senator lost the Democratic primary to Ned Lamont will be on hand to denounce Amann’s gubernatorial dreams.
Calling Amann a Liebercrat in a press release, New Haven resident Ed Anderson and Branford resident Keith Crane, who is best known for this encounter with Amann, said Amann’s bid for governor is “#8220;D.O.A.”
The duo also criticized Amann for not supporting civil unions and not understanding basic party loyalty.
It’s likely Amann will be ready to fire back Thursday evening.
