In preparation for Tuesday’s Judiciary Committee hearing on changes to the parole and criminal justice system—following the slaying of three members of a prominent Cheshire family—the Office of Legislative Research and Office of Fiscal Analysis have analyzed legislators proposals.

The 15 proposals on a variety of changes to criminal sentencing, parole release, community supervision, a tougher three strikes law, and expansion of the prison system are located here. The proposal to watch will be the one made by the Judiciary Committee Co-Chairmen, Rep. Michael Lawlor, D-East Haven, and Sen. Andrew McDonald, D-Stamford. Click here for that proposal, here for the OLR summary of the proposal, and here to see how much it will cost.

The Judiciary Committee will meet 1 p.m. Tuesday to discuss all of the proposals to change the state’s criminal justice system.
