Republican Senator Louis DeLuca’s attorney Craig Raabe wrote a letter to the six-member bipartisan committee investigating the senator to tell them they broke their own rules Tuesday by passing a resolution seeking subpoena power from the full Senate without a recommendation of expulsion.
The committee’s rules make “clear a request for ‘additional resources,’ such as subpoena power, could not be made unless the committee voted to recommend expulsion to the full Senate” Raabe wrote.
In closing Raabe stated, “this lengthy and difficult process should have ended yesterday with a resolution of no action, reprimand, or censure.”
