In Hartford this Saturday, Nov. 3 the Hartford Independent Media Center is throwing and Underween party at Real Art Ways, 56 Arbor Street. The party celebrates the launch of the Fall 2007 Hartford Undercurrent. There will be a costume contest, dancing, eating, and drinking. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.

In Manchester on Saturday, Nov. 3 the Queenie Foundation, a non profit humane organization that calls attention to homeless animals, will host a benefit concert at the Hungry Tiger Cafe, 120 Charter Oak Street.  The event will feature live rock ‘n roll dance music provided by the Savage Brothers. The benefit runs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. and tickets are just $8.

Then on Sunday, Nov. 4 there’s the annual Veteran’s Day Parade in downtown Hartford. The parade steps off about 1 p.m. at the intersection of Buckingham and Washington Streets, near the State Capitol, it travels north on Trinity Street through the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, onto Ford Street, turns right on Asylum Street, right onto Main Street where it passes a reviewing stand across from the Wadsworth, and right onto Capitol Ave, where it ends.
