I received this email this morning and I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing Vincent Valvo the best of luck.
It is with deep sadness that I announce the resignation of Vincent Valvo as Editor of the Hartford Business Journal.
Vince has accepted an offer he “simply can’t refuse” to be Group Publisher of the Warren Group. The company, located in the Boston area, publishes several different business publications including Bankers and Tradesman, the Commercial Record and other real estate and business resource publications. Previously, Vince worked with them for 16 years before his time at the CT Law Tribune.
During his almost two years here, Vince’s contributions include: redesign of the Hartford Business Journal core product, the HBJtoday redesign, creation of a brand new Hartfordbusiness.com website, and been an on air personality for us on NBC30 Nightly News 3 days a week. He has led the editorial team to capture a record breaking number of awards from the Small Business Association, and the Society of Professional Journalists, and AABP.
In addition to his contribution in Hartford, Vince has also worked with Christina Davis in the Editorial Director role to redesign the WBJ, and has helped Christina transition in her current role as editor of the WBJ. He has also been responsible for organizing some outstanding editorial workshops and organized off site training as well. He has also managed the circulation efforts in HBJ and WBJ.
Please join me in thanking Vince for his HUGE contribution to the team and our products, and in wishing him the best in his new job.His last day will be Friday, November 15th.
