Editorial cartoonist, Jeff Vella joins the CTNewsjunkie family this Wednesday and every Wednesday, until he decides he’s too good for us and moves onto bigger and better things.
Vella, like most artists, said he knew at a very young age that he wanted to draw comics for a living. “At age 6, I would amuse my family and friends by holding a crayon box up to my eyes, (pretending it was a camera), I’d say ‘click’ then I’d duck down behind the sofa and draw their caricatures as fast as I can, and charged .10 cents for each one. I made $1.80 that summer. I knew then, I wanted to be a professional cartoonist,” Vella says.
Check back Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. for Vella’s debut cartoon.
