"Sicko" movie poster
Local health care advocates are using Michael Moore’s new movie “Sicko” to continue their call for universal health care this weekend.

Connecticut moviegoers will have the opportunity to tell stories of their own misadventures in the health care system and join the ranks of residents working for universal health care outside movie theaters in Hartford and Norwalk this weekend.

Community volunteers and organizers from a statewide campaign for universal health care will be greeting filmgoers inside and outside movie theaters with “Tell Your Story” mail-in cards and directing them to the Healthcare4every1 Web site, where they can also post their stories and join the campaign sponsored by Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut.

Volunteers will be outside Cinema City in Hartford (click here for showtimes) and the Royale 6 in Norwalk (click here for showtimes).

The film will also be showing at: Bethel Cinema in Bethel; AMC Loews in Danbury; UA in East Hampton; Fairfield Cinemas in Fairfield; Island 16 in Holtsville; Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington; Showcase Cinemas Buckland Hills in Manchester; Showcase Cinemas in Orange; and Majestic 6 in Stamford.  Other theaters are expected to add the movie to their lineups in upcoming weeks.
