The House and Senate votes confirm that the Democrats are simply not listening to the people of Connecticut—or else they just don’t care.

Our citizens do not need and cannot afford a 10.5 percent increase in spending and a billion dollar tax increase at a time when they are struggling with soaring gas prices and high energy and utility costs.

Meanwhile, the Democrats continue to play ping-pong with something our citizens do want and need – the gas tax cut.

With five days left in the legislative session, the majority party has yet to address energy, health care, a budget and many other issues facing our state.  Tomorrow is a new day, the day after is a new month, but it is also the end of the legislative session.  It is time to get the job done.
