More than 50 busloads of Connecticut residents will be coming to Hartford to stand up for health care 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
(It’s expected to be the largest rally in Hartford since the income tax rally more than 16 years ago.)
Speakers will include members of the medical and business communities, and those who are underinsured, all sharing their personal testimonies. In addition, faith leaders, labor leaders and the president of the Universal Health Care Foundation will lead calls to action.
The family-friendly event will also include performances by New England’s most popular Latin Orchestra, the 12-piece Ray Gonzáles Orchestra; the award-winning New Image Praise Dance Studio; the Trinity College Pipes and Drums; and the hot new soul group A-7 Music. Deborah J. Thompson of Hartford will provide sign language interpreting for the deaf and hearing impaired.
