Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez was there Aug. 8 to support U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman during his defeat to Ned Lamont in the Democratic Primary, but he won’t be there Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Perez’s election day schedule includes stops in Bridgeport, Waterbury, and Suffield. He will campaign for fourth congressional district candidate Diane Farrell, fifth congressional district candidate Chris Murphy, and state representative candidate Derek Donnelly. Perez apparently won’t be with Lieberman in Hartford at the Goodwin Hotel Tuesday. When asked again about his support, Sarah Barr, the mayor’s spokesperson said in an email that “The Mayor has been actively supporting the Democratic ticket. He’s focusing today on some of the tight Congressional races in order to help Democrats take control of the House of Representatives.“A bunch of Democratic Hartford politicos like City Council Majority Leader rJo Winch and her mother, Prenzina Holloway, have maintained their support for Lieberman even after his defeat in the Democratic primary. And it would seem Perez may feel the wrath of his chief of staff Matt Hennessy, son-in-law of Lieberman’s senior adviser.
