The demonstration will begin with a gathering near the Fair Haven Middle School at 164 Grand Avenue in New Haven, followed by a march down Grand Avenue to the Green at 12:30 p.m.“We’ll be marching to express the majority sentiment that the US people want the troops brought home now. We’ll be marching to be the voice of the 72 percent of soldiers in Iraq who say, ‘Bring us home,’” organizer Christine Gauvreau said. “We’ll be marching with a very large contingent of Latino activists, who are vehemently against the war because military recruiters are daily in their schools in a very intrusive and aggressive way harassing their children and trying to get them to join the military, and with all those people whose social services have be cut because money is diverted to the war.”
