The state is supposed to replace these iron horses with computerized contraptions next year. Though Hartford had a relatively low key Board of Education race, local elections around the state boasted historical results, especially in Waterbury, where incumbent Mayor Michael Jarjura won an unprecedented write-in campaign. The three Democratic candidates for the BOE won easily, though Working Families Party nominee Sharon Patterson Stallings ousted incumbent Republican Michael Lupo.
