Connecticut businesses are starting to sweat over complying with the federal health-reform law, passed by Democrats and signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. Ruben Nogueira says he’s already hearing complaints about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, even though much of it has yet to go into effect.

Rell Joins Govs. In Plea For Federal Funds

Jodi Rell joined a bipartisan group of governors from across the nation Wednesday to urge Congress to extend federal Medicaid assistance to the states, warning that failure to pass it could bring dire economic consequences and lead to dramatic reductions in public services and possibly a double-dip recession.

Connecticut needs a health information exchange. But the state’s current proposal calls for consumers to be defaulted into the exchange unless they affirmatively opt out and the loss of privacy could be too high a price for consumers.
